Happy Birthday, Grandpa!
This weekend was Grandpa Steve's birthday. Just look at what he got...
...a visit from his favorite grandson (who arrived 'wrapped' with this lovely bow on his head)!
I think Grandpa liked his gift :).
In addition to wishing Grandpa a happy birthday, Andy helped our good friends install a fence in their backyard. While he was busy with that, Simon and Jess picked up a few things at Target and explored downtown Red Wing on foot for a while...
I tried to take this photo of us in front of a Red Wing mural about five times...I never could get the 'Red' and 'Wing' AND both Simon and my heads in the photo all at once. (I guess that's what happens when you're trying to take a photo of yourself...your arm is only so long!)
We also went to the farm to plant the white spruce trees that we got at Mike & Kristi's wedding. Here Andy, Pete, and Steve are carrying planting supplies up the hill.
And here Andy is filling in some dirt around the first sapling. Don't worry, Simon and I helped, too: Simon provided moral support...and I carried the moral support.

Happy Birthday, Steve! Cute photos, Jess. And since you provided the link, I checked out Alex and Erica's blog, too. Gee, there's another cute, happy couple with a cute, happy baby just like on your blog! Seriously, it was fun to check it out - what a neat family. Too bad we didn't have this kind of technology when our generation was raising kids. It sure would have been fun and helped us all keep in touch with each other.
