The Boys' Favorite New Pastime

Thanksgiving Fun

Well, here I have arrived at Christmas Eve without posting our Thanksgiving photos. The best laid plans...

But as the boys watch a 1950s-era Rudolph show, I suppose I can spare a few minutes to upload some!

I hope you are all enjoying a very Merry Christmas!

Our Thanksgiving Fun:

All but one of the kiddos (Olivia): Abbie, Theodore, Izzie, Simon, & Emelia, checking out the view from the cabin deck.

What would a hiking trip with Andy and Alex be if they didn't find something ridiculously large to throw in the river? (I mean, what's the difference between a "stick" and a "log" anyway?)

A hiking we will go...

...a hiking we will go!

Mmmm...Thanksgiving feast! (and there's little Olivia!)

The whole gang :-)

Before heading out of BackBone State Park, we stopped to take a photo of Simon and I by this bittersweet...

...because four (!) years ago he and I posed in the same spot!

Holiday Catch-Up: Halloween

As we are fast approaching Christmas, I decided perhaps it was time to  make time to catch up on the blog. We're two major holidays behind, after all!

Simon helped with the pumpkin scooping...

 ...under expert supervision, of course.

Jess got in on the carving action as well.

Here we are with our pumpkins--Simon's designed by himself, carved by Daddy, Theodore's designed and carved by Daddy, and Mommy's designed and carved by herself!

Theodore went trick or treating for the first time this year. He was dressed as a jester, and Simon as Superman (thanks Ellie & Ben for passing on your old costumes!)
-
The boys loved trick-or-treating. It was as though the bucket was glued to Theodore's hand--he just thought it was brilliant that he could stand in front of someone's door and they would give him candy!
Here are the triumphant candy-gatherers, nearing the end of their journey.

So...Happy late Halloween everyone!
